Before the 'Forever Stamp' was ever made public or probably even thought about I had an entirely different vision of the "Forever Leaf Stamps & Postcard Set" that I created. My Forever stamp --is forever in a totally different way then the post office used the name. Designing with leaves made me think of how symbolic they are. When a leaf falls off a tree it blows all over the street, gets ran over, people step on them, they turn brown and die. I thought what happends to it next? ...Nothing. So by taking ordinary leaves from outside my house, scanning them into my computer and printing them on paper and making them last for ever and ever is even more symbolic and ironic then I even thought when I first had the idea. Hence, the name Forever Leaf Stamps. |
